Francheska López Rivera merges interests in art and biology toward a career in molecular animation. She has experience in the 3D animation field through a 3D animation course using Autodesk Maya, during which she produced the two short animation films displayed in the Animations section. She is now a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Dr. Janet Iwasa’s Animation Lab, where she hopes to develop her skills in molecular 3D animation. Francheska’s additional interests include teaching and science outreach. She obtained her PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard University, where she studied regulators of chromatin organization using budding yeast in the laboratory of Dr. Fred Winston. She obtained a Bachelor of Environmental Design (architecture) and a second concentration in Integrative Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus.
